July 4th Etobicoke York Community Council

Wednesday, July 4th is the Etobicoke York      Community Council (EYCC) meeting.

The Junction HCD and other supporters will be        attending to oppose the redevelopment of four properties on the northwest corner of Pacific       Avenue at 2978 Dundas Street West, which is also adjacent to a landmark heritage building – the former Junction town hall.

A notice to demolish was received prior to the Open House meeting that was being hosted by the applicant to reveal the revised plans to the community.  This project also intends to exceed the six-storey height applicable in our twenty-metre Character Area and ignores an appropriate        cornice line step-back at the third-storey.

A link to view the meeting agenda is: http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/decisionBodyProfile.do?function=doPrepare&decisionBodyId=965#Meeting-2018.EY32, and the staff report is available at: http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/viewAgendaItemHistory.do?item=2018.EY32.2.

We need your help to avert the detrimental impact on our Character Area and future HCD.  Please consider attending to demonstrate your support, and perhaps to speak at 14:00.  Or write to the EYCC members to express your objections (a draft letter is attached); the e-address is: etcc@toronto.ca, and the chair is Councillor Mark Grimes.
